About This Product

This is a vinyl LP pressing of "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye. Released as Gaye's 13th studio album, "Let's Get It On" marked his first venture into funk and romance-themed music, blending smooth soul, doo-wop, and quiet storm. Noted for its sexually suggestive lyrics, one critic even called it "one of the most sexually charged albums ever recorded." Following the success of his socially conscious album "What's Going On" (1971), this album helped establish Gaye as a sex icon and broadened his mainstream appeal. It produced three successful singles: the title track, "Come Get to This," and "You Sure Love to Ball." "Let's Get It On" became the most commercially successful album of Gaye's career and further expanded his creative control during his tenure with Motown.
