The album became the best-selling soundtrack of all time, selling more than 45 million copies worldwide. "I Will Always Love You," the film's first single, is the best-selling single by a female artist in history, and spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a record. The film starred actor and Oscar winner Kevin Costner, and it was the second highest-earning film of 1992 with more than $410 million. The soundtrack earned Whitney three GRAMMY Awards, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year, and swept numerous other awards shows. Whitney's career-defining version of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" went 10x platinum in the U.S. and sold 20 million copies worldwide and recently joined the billion views club on YouTube.
