About This Product

This is a product description for a vinyl LP pressing of Lightnin' Strikes by Lightnin' Hopkins, part of the Verve Acoustic Sounds Series. The album, recorded in 1966 for the Verve Folkways label, features transfers from analog tapes and has been remastered on 180g vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging. While it may not be as well-known as some of his other albums, it is considered a classic example of his work, featuring a backing band of Jimmy Bond on bass, Earl Palmer on drums, and Don Crawford on harmonica. The album includes the opener "Mojo Hand" and the ballad "Woke Up This Morning," showcasing the classic blues sound of one of the genre's greatest artists.
