This is a vinyl LP pressing of Jazz Samba by Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd. Part of the Jean-Pierre Leloir 180 gram vinyl Collection, this album played a pivotal role in bringing the Bossa Nova craze to the United States in 1962. Jazz Samba became an instant hit, significantly revitalizing Stan Getz’s career. While earlier attempts to blend Brazilian rhythms with jazz had been made, this album set the standard, leading to a wave of Bossa Nova recordings by Getz and other jazz artists. The LP also includes the single edition of the pop hit "Desafinado" as a bonus track.
