This is a yellow cassette tape pressing of Antisocialites by the Toronto-based group Alvvays, a powerful new collection that sees the band renew its Scot-pop vows while diving into themes of isolation, loss, and reckless romance. The album, which opens with the crushing and charming breakup fantasy "In Undertow," is a manic emotional collage fueled by singer Molly Rankin’s shining wit, showcased through phonetic twists and irreverent syllable-play across tracks like the Cocteau-pop stunner "Dreams Tonite," from which the album derives its name. Rankin wrote the album by working in an abandoned classroom on Toronto Island to avoid the city's heat, and the final recording—featuring a guest appearance from Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub—is a perversely enjoyable dark drama that ranges from the winking surf indictment "Plimsoll Punks" to the stark and celebratory final track, "Forget About Life."
