Pink Floyd’s tenth studio album, Animals, originally released in January 1977, was recorded at the band’s Britannia Row Studios in London and self-produced. A sharp departure from their earlier sound, this concept album explores the social and political tensions of mid-1970s Britain, using animal metaphors to critique society’s moral and social decline. What began as a set of separate songs evolved into one of the band’s most biting and ambitious works.
