About This Product
Phil Collins percussionist and clinician Richie Gajate-Garcia turned to LP for his new line of roadworthy, eye-catching congas. Each conga in the Richie Gajate-Garcia Signature Series is built from Romanian tilia wood (basswood) with a fibreglass core for added strength. Tilia is about 20% lighter than oak, and its deep tone and earthy look are perfect for the stage. Sweetwater reviewers felt the decorative lathed bands added a nice visual touch - an homage to the steel bands of staved congas. We also appreciated the rawhide head and patented Top-Tuning system, which promises to be much simpler than traditional congas for tuning up on the fly.

Unless displayed in a store, we keep our instruments freshly sealed in our warehouse. Should you wish to try an instrument before ordering it online, please call your favourite Swee Lee showroom before heading down, and our staff will be happy to assist!
