The American hip-hop duo originally released their second studio album on March 29, 1988, via Jive Records. It was the first double album in hip-hop music and the eighth rap album to become a platinum album. The album was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 1, 1995, and is the duo's most successful album.
