TAMA began manufacturing drums in 1965 under the name "Star Drums", and Star continues to be used in the names of TAMA's drum models to this day. TAMA was one of the first manufacturers to offer super heavy-duty hardware, and drum mounting systems that did not intrude into the shell. TAMA's drums and hardware are world renowned as among the best available. The TAMA Silverstar Series Kits are perfect set outdoors or in small clubs and parties. As TAMA's most compact kits, they are very easy to transport and setup/ tear down is a breeze. The lugs have been reduced in weight and ensure the best reverberation characteristics of the birch shells. Additional features include the Star-Mount system with adjustable eye-bolts as well as the Sound Arc hoops, and PowerCraft II heads.
