About this product
In Gibson's plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the earliest Gibson PAF (“Patent Applied For”) humbuckers were wound on machines that gave imprecise and inconsistent results, meaning the pickups came with varying degrees of output and tone. The ’57 Classic Plus uses slightly overwound balanced coils, exactly like the original PAFs of the late 1950s that accidentally received a few additional turns of wire. They are the perfect bridge-position partner for the ’57 Classic, delivering just a little more output without compromising the classic vintage tone. The pickups are so authentic that they even carry the original "Patent Applied For" decal on the baseplate.
