About This Product

This is a 2021 reissue vinyl LP pressing of Deadwing by Porcupine Tree. The British progressive rock group originally released their eighth studio album on March 24, 2005, through Lava Records. Produced by Steven Wilson, Gavin Harrison and Richard Barbieri, the album is based on a ghost horror screenplay written by Steven Wilson and Mike Bennion. Wilson has stated that the songs "Deadwing", "Lazarus", "Arriving Somewhere but Not Here", "Open Car", and "Mellotron Scratch" were originally intended for the film soundtrack, but when the project failed to find the funding they were instead recorded for the next Porcupine Tree album. The album features guest appearances from Adrian Belew (King Crimson), who plays guitar solos on the title track and Halo, and Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth), who adds vocal harmonies and a guitar solo to Arriving Somewhere But Not Here.
