The American alternative rock band released their hugely anticipated new seventh album on May 31, 2011, through Barsuk record label. Produced by Chris Walla, Codes and Keys was recorded in eight different studios and was influenced by the album, Another Green World by Brian Eno. The album debuted on Billboard 200 at No. 3, with 102,000 copies sold in its first week. It has sold 283,000 copies in the US as of March 2015. On November 30, 2011, the album received a Nomination in the 54th Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album.
