Addy started playing
guitar at the young age of 10. Within 2 years, he did his first guitar
performance in school. In 1985, he got his very first electric guitar
which was the Ibanez Roadstar. His interest in playing the guitar got more
serious at the age of 14, where he played at Malay weddings.
|
|
Addy got his first
recording break at the age of 16 with a Malaysian band, teacher's Pet
(Warner Music). And like all Singaporean born males, he had to join
the army. Not surprisingly, he was with the army band.
Addy has been a studio
guitar secessionist since 1994.
After army, he joined
Cradle (EMI), a local band. They recorded an album which sold a few
thousand copies. The 2 songs he wrote sang, played and produced were
big hits.
Addy released his
first solo album, Rahsia which mean "Secret" in Malay, in 2003 which
he wrote, sang, played and produced. That album won him an award for
Best New Artiste at the Annugerah Planet Musik 2004 awards.

In 2006, he received
the Compass Award for Top Local Malay Song, "Mengapa Berdusta" which
means "Why Lie" in Malay, from his ablum, Rahsia.
He started playing in
the club scene from 1997 with local singer, Wendi Koh.
In 1999, he joined
John Molina (Krueger).
In 2001, he was
offered to join the legendary local band, Jive Talking.
In 2003, he was
offered to join Douglas Oliveiro and the band 9 lives.
In 2005, Jive Talking
and Addy were fated to work together once again. To date, he is still
playing with them. |

While he grew up playing
Ibanez guitars, he did try playing other brand guitars for a year but Addy
found his perfect guitar in 2004, the Ibanez J Custom. Ibanez J Custom
gave him so much inspiration and his guitar playing kept improving that he
brought 5 of them!
In 2007, Addy had joined
Swee Lee Music Company as an endorser, he endorses the Ibanez guitar.
Ibanez is very famous in guitar, bass, amplifier etc. From all Addy's
collection, Ibanez Prestige RGT 320Q, J Custom are his favorite guitars.
Addy's ongoing project is
recording an ablum with Cradle again. This album is expexted to release
early 2007. People who inspire Addy include Steve Vai, Andy Timmons and
Ritchie Kotzen.
